NOTICE OF RACE (Draft)

1.              RULES

1.1.       The event will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing. RRS Appendix E will apply.

1.2.       The following documents will also govern the event:

International One Meter Class Rules

National Marine Model Championships Rules

Equipment Rules of Sailing

Heat Management System (HMS)

IRSA Case Book

1.3.       The Jury may publish a document setting out an accelerated procedure for protests and requests for redress.

1.4.       No national or regional authority prescriptions will apply.

1.5.       If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

2.              ELIGIBILITY

2.1.       The radio sailing is open to all boats of the following classes:

(a)     IOM (Open / Youth)

(b)     U550 (Youth only)

(c)      U900 (Youth only)

2.2.       The birthday of the youth competitors shall be later than January 1st 2000.

3.              ENTRY

3.1.       Each club may enter up to six boats and no more than two events will be entered by one competitor.

3.2.       Entry fees for IOM Open are 400 RMB per boat. Entry fees for every youth group are 200 RMB per boat. People who did not pay the entry fee shall not launch competition boats during the race. The fee includes the buffet of opening ceremony.

3.3.       Final Entry Form shall be received by QIMC no later than 30th June 2018. Appendix B is the Entry Form. You may also download it from the official website of QIMC as the following:

3.4.       Teams who have entered may pay the entry fee in advance by bank transfer. The bank transfer information is as Appendix C.

3.5.       The fee mentioned above may be paid in cash or credit card during the on-site registration, but competitors from Chinese mainland shall pay extra 100 RMB each as the later entry fee.

3.6.       Teams who completed the formality prescribed in NOR 3.2 to 3.4 or agreed with the organizing authority (OA) the method of payment mentioned above may receive the entry confirmation letter from the OA.

4.              ON-SITE REGISTRATION

4.1.       Members of each team may complete an on-site registration from 0900 to 1700 on 5 Sep. For competitors of youth groups, the on-site registration will be completed from 1800 to 2100 on 7 Sep. To complete registration teams shall complete the following with their competition boats present on site:

(a)     Check-in and paying the entry fee.

(b)     Show the origin and copy of personal accident insurance.

(c)      Show their valid measurement certificate and go through equipment check.

Competitors who cannot pass the equipment check by the end of registration will be disqualified without hearing.

4.2.       The frequency shall be 2.4GHz.

6.              MEASUREMENT

6.1.       Boats together with their measurement certificates shall be presented for on-site registration and equipment inspection.

6.2.       No boat shall be eligible to race until it has been registered and has passed equipment inspection.

7.              SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SIs)

The SIs will be available at registration. The Sis may be published on the following official website of the organizing committee one week before the registration:

8.              SCORING AND RACING SYSTEM

The event shall be raced and scored under the Heat Management System. Five races are required to be completed to constitute the event.

9.              LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

10.          INSURANCE

Each boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 200,000 RMB and the claim coverage includes China. For the purposes of NOR the term ‘boat’ includes the designated competitor. If no proof of insurance is provided, it may be bought at the price of 60 RMB on site.

11.          TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Qingdao Liuting International Airport (IATA: TAO) is located in Chengyang district which is about 34km (1 hour’s drive) from the venue. At present, there are more than 20 international routes in Qingdao Airport covering 10 countries and 16 cities.
